The Walton team

Walton’s growth and continuing success is thanks in no small part to our skilled and experienced – and highly likeable – team. We currently employ over 80 people, and value the contribution made by each and every one.

As well as ensuring we recruit the best people in the first instance, we do our utmost to nurture talent and see our staff progress and flourish within our business. The key contacts at Walton include the people below.

Tim Payne
Managing Director

Tim joined Walton in 1992.

He became Operations Manager in 1997 and was appointed to a Managing Director in 1999. Tim played a key role in introducing the company to utility reinstatement. He has a DipHE and BSc (Hons) in Environmental and Earth Sciences.

Andrew Britten
Commercial Director

Andrew joined the company in 2004.

After gaining experience within the company, he became Commercial Manager in 2009 and progressed to Commercial Director in 2024 where he is influential in the overall management and growth of the business.  Andrew now plays an important role within the Senior Management Team and heads up the main decision making on a daily basis.

Carla Lovell

Operations Director

Carla joined Walton in 2010 as a reinstatement co-ordinator.

After 5 years she was promoted to Team Manager where she progressed in character and gained a wealth of knowledge in the industry, enough to take on the role of Contract Manager in 2019.

The role of Business Operations Manager developed a year later in 2020 and in 2024 progressed to Operations Director where she plays an important role within the Senior Management Team and oversees all aspects of operations.

John Binding
Logistics Director

Joined Walton in 2005 as Plant & Transport Manager, after 23 years in the Army specialising in logistics.

He became logistics Director in 2010 and offers experienced guidance in the logistical decision making of the senior management team.

He is responsible for our fleet of operational vehicles, plant & tools. His role also includes the Management and running of all of our depots.

John holds the certificate of professional competence in road haulage (international)

Mark Johnson
General Manager/Company Secretary

Mark joined Walton as Financial Controller in 2011.

During his time at WCE Mark has obtained his knowledge in all parts of the business, which led to his natural progression to his current role as General Manager in 2021, where he plays a vital part in the everyday running and development of the company.  He plays an important role within the Senior Management Team and as of 2024 has the added responsibility of Company Secretary to oversee Walton’s financial and legal requirements.

Nathan Harris
Operations Manager

Nathan joined Walton in 2018 as a Team Manager, after 3 years in the role he was promoted to Contracts Manager in 2021. Nathan’s role became more diverse as he carried out onsite operational/supervisory works

In 2024 Nathan was promoted to Operations Manager of the business, with his strong leadership and management skills he has a big part to play in the day-to-day problem solving throughout the business. Alongside Ashley Hembury the role involves dealing with the daily operations of the business overseeing all operatives, supervisors and being a main contact for our clients.

Ashley Hembury
Operations Manager

Ashley Joined Walton as a Reinstatement Operative in 2016, gaining valuable all-round knowledge along the way. He progressed and grew through the roles of Team Leader, Supervisor, Team Manager on to Contracts Manager up to 2024.

In 2024 Ashley was promoted to Operations Manager of the business, Ashley has years of experience, on a range of different size and types of work, making him one of our strongest technical supports to the business. Alongside Nathan Harris the role involves dealing with the daily operations of the business overseeing all operatives, supervisors and being a main contact for our clients.

Ashley Doel
Project Manager

Ashley joined Walton’s in 2010 as a Reinstatement Operative. He progressed to supervisor and as of 2024 has stepped up to Project Manager overseeing and managing the large and complex site works utilising his vast experience, knowledge and skillset.

Helena Roy
Performance and Compliance Manager

Helena joined Walton in 2000 as a reinstatement coordinator.

She has held her current position since 2010, ensuring we comply with our client’s requests and has a hands-on approach in developing our in-house systems.

Kirsty Willcox

General Office Manager

Kirsty joined the company in 2011 as a Purchase Ledger Clerk.

She has progressed through various roles and her all round knowledge of the business proved invaluable when she was promoted to General Office Manager in 2022.

Jess Constanza
Team Manager

Jess started working for Walton in 2017 as a Data Inputter and then soon progressed onto a Reinstatement Co-Ordinator – her ability and experience in these roles resulted in her promotion to Team Manager.

Jess became a Team Manger in 2021, and now has a big part to play in the daily management of our WWU contract, also training and educating other Team Managers.

Sam Morrison

Team Manager

Sam Joined Walton in 2018, having previously worked as a supervisor in the Transport industry. This experience has helped him adapt his current role of Team Manager.

Sam has years of experience and a vast knowledge on our backfill and reinstatement contracts for Gas replacement in the south area also training and educating other Team Managers.

Jason Bletsoe
Team Manager

Jason joined Walton as a Team Manager with a Team Leadership background and having worked for the business in 2018 – 2019, he returned in 2021 to his current role of Team Manger.

Jason has years of experience in the Team management role running our head depot at Millbrook and has had experience running an array of different contracts.

Chris Jones
Team Manager

Chris joined the team in May 2024 as a Team Manager his background was in the steel industry, his transferable skills that have seen him pick up the job extremely well.

Chris runs the surface reinstatement on our gas replacement work in the south and supports any surface only contracts in this area as well.

Scott Ingram
Team Manager

Scott joined Walton in September 2024 as a Team Manager and has a background in operations and distribution, which has shown in the success of how well he has fit in to the Team managers job.

Scott runs the surface reinstatement on our WWU contract and supports all other contracts within this area.
